Ford recently unveiled the latest updates to the legendary Ford F-150 pickup truck. The new model is tougher, smarter, and more capable than ever. An array of new engines join the lineup, and the F-150 gains many upgrades to both the interior and exterior. Powertrain

For the 2018 model year, the standard powerplant is a 3.3L Ti-VCT V6 engine that offers improved fuel efficiency over the former model, without sacrificing any performance. Additional engine choices are a 2.7L and 3.5L EcoBoost®  a 5.0L Ti-VCT V8, and for the most extreme power, there’s a 3.0L Power Stroke® Diesel, producing 440 lb.-ft. of torque. All these engines are mated to a new 10-speed automatic transmission.

Exterior

The new 2018 Ford F-150 is lighter and stronger, built with a high-strength steel fully boxed ladder frame and a high-strength military-grade aluminum alloy body. This pickup truck has received a number of updates to its exterior style as well. The all-new front fascia features a restyled grille and new LED headlights. Around back, there’s a new sculpted tailgate, a new tail lamp design, and LED lights inside the bed for working after the sun goes down. Choose from a variety of available appearance packages like the Sport Package that includes:

  • Body color-painted signature twin bars
  • Six all-new wheel designs

Interior

Depending on the trim you choose, you’ll see updates on the interior of the new F-150 as well. The Platinum trim features Dark Marsala upholstery, and the Limited offers a new leather color known as Navy Pier. There is a new audio system as well. The 2018 F-150 is the first Ford vehicle in the U.S. to feature a premium B&O PLAY audio system, produced by Danish audio system manufacturer Bang & Olufsen.
